Finally the rain stopped last week and the weekend was beautiful. Thankfully this sweet family took advantage of it and we met at Little Mulberry Park in Dacula for birthday and family portraits. The weather could not have been any more perfect and we had a blast! I just love the colorful colors of the clothing and balloons. Color is so fun!

Little Blue Eyes

This little fellow has the most amazing lashes and bright blue eyes. He is always such a joy to photograph because he is always so happy.

I always enjoy visiting with this family. It is so much fun to make friends while watching their child grow. I have really enjoyed being a part of B.'s first nine months.

Moosecat

This little man was nicknamed Moosecat by his big sister while he was in his mommy's tummy. And like cute little nicknames, it stuck through the pregnancy. Big sister is so excited that her little Moosecat has finally arrived. She absolutely loves him and I can see why. Will the nickname stick? We'll see.

It was a joy to photograph this little fellow just as I did his sister four years ago. He was a perfect model just as she was as well. When you have a perfect model, you have lots of photos. I had a hard time picking.

So here is my first session of 2012! Happy New Year!!!

I have been photographing this family this fellow's whole life and for this session he was READY for photos. I had a blast with he and his family. He is at the age that everthing that comes out of his mouth is cute or funny. He loved to run but was just as happy to sit and talk. What a cool little dude. I think we got some really fun shots to capture him at four.

I had so many photos to share. I might have to revisit them for a second blog post we had such a fun time.

I have several of his real smile but I just love it when little kids smile like this.

I am so excited to share little A.M.'s newborn photos. She was just the sweetest little darling and so well behaved. I even got to rock her to sleep. (be still my heart!) I just love her little heart shaped lips.

...on a cloudy day. It was a CLOUDY day for our session on Sunday. Thankfully we were able to sneak these photos in between clouds. I just love this family. They have the best personalities and it is so much fun to see how the kids have changed from year to year. Sibling relationships are so fun to watch at this age. One thing is for certain though, these two really love each other.

This is the best photo EVER. I wish I could take credit for telling him to lick his sister but I can't. This is all him.

I had the privilege to photograph this sweet family again this year for family portraits. They are such a terrific threesome and I always enjoy spending time with them. Little G. is growing so big and looking more and more like a little girl than a baby. It is so much fun watching them grow from tiny infants to independent little people.

Sweet six months

I met sweet B. and his parents at the UGA Founder's Garden yesterday for his six month portraits. Oh what a doll! There were times I could have sworn someone had put a little doll in front of me. He was such a great little fellow with plenty of smiles. I always enjoy spending time with his family. This is one lucky little fellow!

I am leaving to chaperon a trip with my daughter's school on Monday and I will return on Wednesday. I will have limited access to the internet while I am away so I will return emails and calls on Thursday morning.

I met this sweet family on Sunday for family photos. Once again we had picture perfect weather for outside photos. I had photographed these girls before and was so surprised how much they have grown since our last session. I think we had a great time and the girls were so cooperative. I could have photographed them all day. I hope I was able to capture some very sweet photos but most of all I hope I captured the girl's personalities and the love their family shares.

This is one of my most favorite families. I met them shortly before their daughter was born and I am still photographing them today. It has been a great joy to watch their little ones grow. I get excited every time we do a session together. The kids have changed so much from the last time I photographed them but one thing has not changed- they are still so adorable.

We met at the Botanical Gardens in Athens on Saturday and we had the most perfect weather. This is definitely the best time for photos so if you have been thinking of doing a session, call me quick!

I was so excited to meet this crew in the Botanical Gardens on Saturday for a sibling session. I could not have asked for more cooperative subjects. I had the pleasure of taking pageant photographs of my best and oldest friend's daughter two weeks ago. I have been dying to share. This little Miss just joined the pageant to help with a local fundraiser and to have fun and ended up winning THE WHOLE PAGEANT plus Miss Photogenic! It certainly does not surprise me. She is beautiful inside and out.

Can you believe Christmas is only 118 days away? Sounds like a lot of days but that is only 17 weekends. Get started on your Christmas shopping early and get your Christmas cards completed by booking a Christmas mini-session in September or October. Here is the deal:

The session is for four individuals but additional time and digital images can be purchased for $10 per person.

This will be the only mini-sessions offered this year so take advantage of the big savings early. My schedule for September and October is booking fast so do not wait to schedule your session. December 3 will be my last session of the year for Christmas photos. Last year I had to turn a lot of people away and I do not like to do that.

Introducing Liesl

Little Liesl has been widely anticipated by friends and family and now she is here. Beautiful, tiny, precious, and with a head full of hair. Through the session I did not even hear her cry, which is amazing for a one week old baby. I am always trying to find new ways to continue the relationships that I start with families who have trusted me to take their photos. I understand that custom photography costs a lot but the value of having a professional photograph of your child outweighs the cost by far. I understand that you would like to have professional photographs your child as much as possible but in these times, it is just not feasible to do it. I wanted to add a new type of session to my price list that would allow families to have their child photographed often during their first year and as many times as they want after that and give them a quality product that they can keep forever.

I am now offering a Basic Digital package to my price list.

BASIC DIGITAL $300

That package includes:

45 minute session
one subject
20 images on disk to be printed up to 8x10
You choose one location from three options

Images are edited and then burned on a disk and mailed to your home.

*add on additional subjects for $25 each
You will receive 10 more minutes per individual
*babies must be able to sit up

The Basic Digital is a great deal. You will get 20 digital images that you can print as many times as you want (for personal use and up to an 8x10). That means you can give one to Grandma, Grandpa, your sister, your aunts and uncles, your neighbor, the check out clerk at Kroger, the lady at the park that things your child has the prettiest blue eyes .. endless photos. This package is great for milestone sessions or yearly portraits.

This session works well if you enjoy things to be quick and easy and prefer for me to chose your photos for you. The time period of the session will be 45 minutes and I will pick the 20 images that will be sent to you. I will shoot this type of session with the idea of getting 20 terrific photographs so there will be a limit to how many clothing changes or scenery changes that we can make.

This session is not ideal for newborns or little ones that can not sit on their own. The great thing is, I will continue to offer an Elite Session that allows you to have a studio set up at your home or have an session that allows you more clothing changes, flexibility, and more proofs to choose your portraits from. I have also added an early bird discount that allows you to save money and rewards so that you get free stuff. With Elite sessions I will devote more time to you before, during, and after the session to ensure that you have the photo session and products that you truly want. It will also allow you to have an online gallery to show off to your friends and relatives. You know Aunt Mable wants to see your little sweetheart even though she is several states away. Plus, you still have the option to purchase negatives if you want them.

Summer.... where have you gone?

On Monday, my three oldest kids will be going back to school. All the school supplies have been bought. The uniforms have been pressed and are ready to be worn. We have met our teachers (and we made out this year!!!) and we should be ready but... I am not. I miss my kids when they are away. The entertain me and say silly things. The house will be very quiet on Monday morning without them. Thank goodness for Emerson. She will have to step up her game and be three times more charming starting Monday.

I started reflecting on all the fun we had and thought I would share a glimse of the Riggott summer with you.

Grayson lost THREE teeth, including the top two. What a smile she has now!

We took a family vacation to Tennessee

We added another member to our family by adopting Snicker the sugar glider. Cookie is so happy (and so is Peyton).

We had some water fun.

And played at the pool

The older girls and John visited family in Charleston and hit the beach.

Peyton and I attended my best friend's wedding and visted the museum in NC.

Grayson competed in a horse show.

Both my big girls had birthdays. Happy birthday Peyton and Grayson!

So long summer! I will miss you but I have great memories of all the fun we had.

I can not believe it has been a year since I photographed this sweet little face. Time travels fast!

I had a great time at the University of GA Founders Garden with this big girl and her family. Once again, I had so many photos to sneak peek and had to really narrow down my number to blog. With a sweet face like this, it is hard to take a bad photo. Other than not being happy about sitting in wet grass, little A. was very easy to please. YAY!

I just love photographing little B. and his family. This is the third time I have photographed this sweet family. Time is passing so fast. :( B. is three months old.

As usual B. was a perfect little model and so tolerant of all the clothing changes and poses. I could have taken pictures of him all day. It certainly does not hurt that he is as cute as a button.

This blanket was made my B.'s great-grandmother years ago. It was beautiful.

Soon there will be four.

I was so excited to photograph this sweet family who is waiting on a little baby girl to arrive in August. I think it would be cool to have a baby sister at age 9. It would be sort of like having a live babydoll. I am sure mom will enjoy having an extra set of eager hands around as well. I can not wait to meet this baby girl soon!

Liesl is the name they chose for their baby girl so this book is just too cute!

Tori + Ryne= An Awesome Wedding

Oh boy did I have fun on Saturday. Sue Ann Holland (Holland Photography) and I warmed up the cameras and spent the day shooting Tori and Ryne's wedding and we had a blast. The weather could not have been more perfect and the couple could not have been more perfect. Let me take you through the day.

Because the blog was a little off last week, I forgot to blog my newest newborn! OH NO!

Here is sweet little B! He was such a good boy for me and let me do so many things with him. Maybe it was the warm spot I made for him or maybe it was that he keeps his mommy and daddy up all night while he snoozes during the day, but either way he was a dream. When I think of the word Love, little B comes to mind. His parents are over the moon in love with him.

Did I ever mention that I love weddings? I do. (LOL) I met this lovely couple during a family session and they mentioned their wedding in April. I was so excited when they chose me to be their photographer. The day could not have been any more perfect. A lovely day, a lovely couple and a lovely family to share it with.

I have so many favorites from Anne and Steve's big day. They are so in love and it really shows in their photos. I HAD to narrow it down so here are my top picks.

Anticipation

I have known this couple for a while now and am so excited that their little one will be arriving soon! I really enjoyed spending some time at their house doing maternity photos last week. You can feel the anticipation as they wait for their baby boy to arrive. This little fellow is so lucky to be born to this wonderful couple. I can not wait to return in a few weeks for a newborn session.

Ok this will not be the couple's first baby. They have a fur-baby as well.

Two year olds are so much fun

I have had several two year olds recently and it is so much fun. I love the funny things they say and do. They have so much personality. Mr. K. was no exception. We ran around the campus at UGA last Sunday for his two year old portraits and had a blast. He is such a sweetheart. I love that his parents wanted to be a part of his session. I have photographed this little girl since BEFORE she was born so I feel so privileged to photograph her again for her two year old portraits. I am in love with her curls and who can resist that adorable face? It has been so much fun watching this little one grow into an independent two year old. I am really looking forward to seeing her again while I photograph her little brother grow this year too.

I was so fortunate to tag along with Stylized Portraiture to the fourth annual Big Hearts Pageant this year. Were you there? If not, then next year you will have to make sure you go. I laughed and I cried. There was so much talent coming from those fifty contestants and it was fantastic. I know there were some proud parents in that room. It was extra special for me because I could invision my sweet Chase on stage there someday and that makes me excited.

The Big Hearts Pageant is organized by Extra Special People (ESP). Extra Special People is a non-profit organization that serves to enhance the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. ESP has year round programs as well as an awesome summer camp program. Each contestant spoke of the summer camp as one of their favorite activities. Did I mention that ESP is a non-profit organization? That means that they will gladly take your donation and in turn you will get the joy of knowing that your money will be used to a smile on the face of one of the many children or young adults who look forward to these programs each month or during the summer. I can not think of any better way to spend your money.

I had to post a few photos. I wanted to blog all 50 contestants but could not. Here are a few favorites. It was SO hard to choose.

This little fellow just turned one but has been walking for quite awhile and now he is running. We had a great time running around the Founder's Garden on UGA's campus last weekend.

I have really enjoyed photographing him this year. I have watched him go from a tiny newborn to a inquisitive six month old and now a big boy at one. Not only is he cute but he is so smart!

I had the best time with little L. and he mom at the Founder's Garden in Athens last Saturday. The weather was just perfect for photographs and L. was in such a great mood. Through the whole session, L. amazed me with all the words she was saying and at one point, I really think she said a sentence. Not only is she beautiful, she is extremely smart.

When you give her two for her friends. She will invite her friends over to the Botanical Gardens.

Once you get to the Botanical Gardens she will want to have a tea party.

When you set up the tea party, she will insist that everyone dress in pink for the party.

Once everyone is dressed, she will demand that all her friends wear bows.

When everyone is dressed and the tea party is all set, she will ask for a photographer.

Then you call Trina Riggott and have her come over to photograph the party.

Now that everyone is seated, you will give the toddler the cookie and she will ask for two more for her friends...

I did meet sweet MP and her parents at the Botanical Gardens this weekend and we did indeed have a tea party. I have so enjoyed watching MP grow this year. I got back from my extended weekend in New York City on Sunday. I had the most exciting trip but came back exhausted. There was so much to see, so much to do, and so many places to get lost. (Getting lost is half the fun, right?) I think I packed about a weeks worth of sight seeing into two days. Had a blast but glad to be back in Georgia. (Although looking through my photos makes me want to go back.)

At a tender three days old, I was able to photograph little A. He was a sweet, sleeping angel. I have spend about two years with this family now and it is so exciting to see them grow. I look forward to watching A. and his big sister change over the next year and their sibling relationship blossom.

It is that time of the year that I dread the most. My external hard drive is filled and I need to get your sessions off and onto disks. Why do I hate it? There is always that chance that something will happen and the session will not get burned correctly and be lost forever. I seem to have an attachment to your photos.

So, I wanted to give you a warning. If you have had a 2010 session with me and you want to order additional photos or if you had a session and forgot to order images, the time to do it is NOW! I will start archiving images as soon as next week. My policy has been to archive ORDERED images for thirty days after the gallery is posted. Images that you did not order WILL NOT be archived. My laziness to transfer your images to disk may be your benefit.

I know you are thinking, "Trina, this is the worst time to be asking me for more money. I am spent out". I totally understand. Place your order with me now and I delay your payment until Jan 31. Just let me know if you want more images so that I know that I need to leave your gallery on my hard drive a little longer. Okay?

...and it did... for a little while.

I met this sweet family-to-be (wedding scheduled in April) on UGA campus on Saturday. I thought it was supposed to be a pretty day but it turned out to be a very dark, overcast day. That turned into rain at the exact time the session was to begin. Instead of calling it all off we decided to make the best of it and I think we made the right choice. After photographing on a few porches the rain took a short break and we were able to run from the shelter to do a few by the fountain. Success!

All they had to do was look at each other and they would both start laughing. Awww!

I met this family at Shields-Ethridge Farm in Jefferson on Sunday. It was a chilly morning but the family was such troopers and we had fun anyway. It was a terrific end to a holiday weekend.

I had a great time with some friends and neighbors before Thanksgiving in Jefferson for their family session. Everyone was together for the holiday and the weather could not have been any more perfect for portraits. This family was so fun and it shows in the photos. I had to hold a few back for the gallery so I will just show a few of my favorites.

This one made me laugh. I was about to tell her to do this but she did it by herself. The next few frames were even more funny.

There are just some families that just leave a lasting impression on you and this is one of them. One of those families that I photograph and then call my husband and tell him how wonderful they were. It was so apparent how much mom loved dad (and vise versa) and how much the both loved H. Not only do they make terrific parents but seem to be an awesome couple as well. The session was so laid back and H. was so very happy. I really enjoyed our session. I have soooo many favorites. There was some serious cuteness at the Founder's Garden on Sunday when this little one arrived. She was full of big smiles and giggles. Little S. will be one next month so we took advantage of this spring-like weather in November to capture her first year portraits. We could not have asked for a better day.

When I moved to Athens we met this wonderful family who also lived in our neighborhood. The kids were, 5 months, 17, months, and 5 years old. My how time flies and look at them now. Since then we have moved to Jefferson but have kept in touch with this wonderful family. I was so happy when they called me for their session this year. Here are a few highlights.

One reason I love them so much is that they just laugh on command. I told them to tell a joke and they started laughing. Of course dad helped out as well by saying funny things. Just looking at this photo makes me happy.

As John and I sit down to the long lists and big toy advertisements planning out what to buy our four kids for Christmas, I realize how thankful I am that we are able to provide a fun Christmas full of food, toys, and clothes for my kids at Christmas. I assisted Sue Ann Holland from Holland Photography in shooting Morgan and Seth's wedding. This is my second wedding assisting Sue Ann and I hope it is not my last. I just love her creative eye for details. You should check out her blog post on Morgan and Seth's wedding here.

What can I say about Morgan and Seth's day? The day was beautiful (although hot!), the bride was gorgeous, the groom was handsome, the flowers were perfect, the attendants were awesome, the cake was yummy, and all the guests enjoyed themselves (and so did the photographers). I enjoyed every minute of it.

I was so excited to hear that MP was now six months old and ready for her milestone photos. We headed over to the Founder's Garden at UGA on Saturday morning and MP was a perfect doll. I was so excited to hear that sweet A. had finally arrived. She kept her mommy waiting a little longer than expected but she arrived a very sweet and perfect little girl. At seven days old, I expected a sleepy baby who I could mold and twist. She was not very sleepy but was so patient and awake. I just love the shots we were able to get. Little A. has a big brother who really loves her to pieces. If she cries in the slightest, he is the first to rush to her side. One thing I noticed about A. is that she looks just like her brother did when he was a newborn. I expect her parents will be labeling the newborn photos this time.

I had the pleasure of photographing my neighbors while their grandfather and cousins were in town. I was able to use my favorite field for the session and photograph some beautiful people. What could be better? Well, if it had been cooler... but we had a great time.

I am sure I have posted about Peyton and Grayson and their love for horses. Grayson is just beginning to learn how to ride the horses and is doing very well but Peyton has a real passion for riding. She says that it is her dream and she puts forth such effort and determination when she is riding.

Both girls participated in a horse show last Saturday. From the start little things just did not go right for us. In Peyton's warm ups she had some trouble with her horse which lead to a few stressful minutes of panic for us both. Thankfully all ended well and help arrived just in time. The bad thing was that she had to jump on another horse quickly without warming up and do the show. Even after having such a scary incident happen to her, she rode beautifully and was able to finish the show. If I had been in her situation, I would have jumped off the horse, kicked the dirt, and quit all together. But, not my animal loving Peyton. She got back in the saddle and did her best. I was a frazzled mess of nerves but she was poised and confident. Her dedication and desire to ride horses amazes me. I learned a lot from her that day.

Christmas in July

If you are a Facebook friend, you followed my ordeal of having my prized canvas' be delivered to the wrong address last week by the delivery company. Thankfully, they were delivered the next day. It was totally worth the wait and the canvas' are BEAUTIFUL!
