Frozen leaf fight...

I met this family at Shields-Ethridge Farm in Jefferson on Sunday. It was a chilly morning but the family was such troopers and we had fun anyway. It was a terrific end to a holiday weekend.

Ok, it was not a totally fozen leaf fight but it was cold! Next time we will have a snowball fight!!! :)

Had a blast!

I had a great time with some friends and neighbors before Thanksgiving in Jefferson for their family session. Everyone was together for the holiday and the weather could not have been any more perfect for portraits. This family was so fun and it shows in the photos. I had to hold a few back for the gallery so I will just show a few of my favorites.

This one made me laugh. I was about to tell her to do this but she did it by herself. The next few frames were even more funny.

And we can not forget the family puppy.

You know there are just some families...

There are just some families that just leave a lasting impression on you and this is one of them. One of those families that I photograph and then call my husband and tell him how wonderful they were. It was so apparent how much mom loved dad (and vise versa) and how much the both loved H. Not only do they make terrific parents but seem to be an awesome couple as well. The session was so laid back and H. was so very happy. I really enjoyed our session. I have soooo many favorites. Any of them could have made it on the blog. Here are my favorites at the moment.

I can not wait to see you again for new sessions in 2011!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I hope you enjoy spending time with your family and friends today.

I will be spending time with my family today so I will be unable to answer emails or questions but if you have a concern, please email or call me on Friday. I will back to work bright and early.

Don't forget BLACK FRIDAY DEALS starting at 2:00 AM on Friday. There is some good stuff there so do not miss out. Once Friday comes and goes, the offer will disappear. Buy now buttons will be posted Friday morning for you to make your purchases.

Also, check out the Thankful post on the blog. Instead of buying Grandma a new coffee cup (again) this year, buy a child a pair of jeans or something they need. By doing so, you will get a wonderful piece of art to give to Grandma. Grandma would be proud.

And since this post would not be as fun without a photo, I want to wish sweet H. a Happy Thanksgiving Birthday! H. is one today and we met at the Founder's Garden on Tuesday to take her one year portraits. More photos in a sneak peek to come A. and Z.

Be still my heart!

There was some serious cuteness at the Founder's Garden on Sunday when this little one arrived. She was full of big smiles and giggles. Little S. will be one next month so we took advantage of this spring-like weather in November to capture her first year portraits. We could not have asked for a better day.

And if you need to get your "do done", visit Catie McWhirter at City Salon and Day Spa in Athens (near Panera). She can make you look fabulous!

Here is her facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/pages/Athens-GA/Catie-from-City-Salon/356610025698 and here is the site http://www.citysalonandspa.com/athens/index.htm. Call her... now! 706-552-1515

All grown up

When I moved to Athens we met this wonderful family who also lived in our neighborhood. The kids were, 5 months, 17, months, and 5 years old. My how time flies and look at them now. Since then we have moved to Jefferson but have kept in touch with this wonderful family. I was so happy when they called me for their session this year. Here are a few highlights.

One reason I love them so much is that they just laugh on command. I told them to tell a joke and they started laughing. Of course dad helped out as well by saying funny things. Just looking at this photo makes me happy.

Thankful...

As John and I sit down to the long lists and big toy advertisements planning out what to buy our four kids for Christmas, I realize how thankful I am that we are able to provide a fun Christmas full of food, toys, and clothes for my kids at Christmas. Other parents are not so lucky. They are trying to decide how they will heat their home or how to replace those shoes that their child outgrew months ago.

This year my older girls and I will be pulling a name off the angel tree to help out but I want to do more. I have some fun shots from the summer and fall that would make great gifts for someone this Christmas. These photos are 5x7 and can be matted to an 8x10. They would make great gifts for teachers, neighbors, friends, family, or anyone else who enjoys art.

The cost? That you donate a toy or give to someone else in need. That is all. You pick who and how much.

Just email me your information (who you donated to, your choice of photo, and your address) and which photo you would like to receive and I will get your photo right out to you.

A bonus: The first 10 people who email me will receive their choice of photo already matted.

Sisters...

Oh what a terrific pair! I really enjoyed meeting these sweet girls and their mom at the Founder's Garden at UGA. I was amazed how close they were even though their ages were so different. We had a blast running around the garden.
